What is the LSP?

The Tendring Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) is a voluntary partnership that brings together the public, private and voluntary sector agencies responsible for the provision of services across the District.

The aim of the Tendring Local Strategic Partnership is  to create the environment in which various services and  initiatives  support one another and work together to improve the quality of life in the Tendring District.

The Tendring Local Strategic Partnership operates at the strategic level and is yet close enough to individual neighbourhoods to allow actions to be determined at the community level.

The Tendring Local Strategic Partnership allows decision making to be coordinated between those responsible for service provision within its boundary.  It provides a forum to draw key service providers into a single body.  Importantly, it allows the communities within the authority’s boundary to work together with key agencies.

The Strategic Board of the Tendring Local Strategic Partnership meets four times a year.  The Strategic Board oversees the strategic direction of the LSP.

Executive Group meetings are held    bi-monthly and it is here that the strategy is broken down into individual action plans for delivery of the strategy’s  aims.

An annual Stakeholders’ event is held to which are invited a wide range of people and interested bodies e.g. service providers, voluntary sector groups, schools and colleges, religious bodies, business people and members of the public.

What is the Sustainable Community Strategy?

The Sustainable Community Strategy identifies the needs of the District and looks ahead to what the District could be like in 2016 through the actions of the key organisations represented on the Tendring Local Strategic Partnership working together.

The Sustainable Community Strategy puts emphasis on Tendring Together.

The strategy, reviewed annually, outlines what is an ongoing process to visualize, plan and influence the quality of life of all communities in the Tendring District.

The Sustainable Community Strategy is divided into six themes; each of the six themes is overseen by a multi-agency action team that works to ensure delivery of the agreed actions.

The period, from the present until 2016,  is the timeframe in which major improvements within the District will have come to fruition with the support of the LSP.
