Economic development

Our objective is for Tendring to have a stronger and more dynamic local economy together with a skilled workforce.

Why economic development?

Based on a basket of current statistics there is scope for step increases in improvement in the District’s education, employment and economic performance.

In common with other areas the Tendring business sector faces ever stronger competition. The imperatives for the District are the retention and expansion of existing businesses, the attraction of new businesses and the provision of a well trained, highly skilled and motivated workforce.  To offer a winning competitive edge the  workforce in Tendring needs a balanced mixture of academic, manager/professional and vocational skills.
