a learning organisation
what is it?
The LSP decided in 2006 that as part of its improvement plan it needed to use the existing good skills and best practice of its partners in order to bring about faster changes and better results.
how would it happen?
It would appoint a Learning Champion to bring together the appropriate expertise from within and outside the District to assess the skills and training needs of Partnership and to make appropriate recommendations to the Board; with the following terms of reference:

Make appropriate best practice recommendations
Propose an on-going programme for capacity building
The Learning Champion, appointed in 2007 with a small working party, has recommended an on-going programme of events, activities and training to build up the capacity of the partnership.
One of the first events has been the awarding of certificates to two local community organisations, The Walton Forum and Harwich Connexions, that have made a difference to the quality of life for local residents.

when do they meet?
Quarterly meetings which report to the Lead Partners Meeting and Executive Board.
